School Closure- Learning @ Home

The Prime Minister has just announced a range of measures to address the Covid19 virus. One of them is that all schools will be closed from tomorrow.

Schools will be open for children of parents working in essential services on Tuesday and Wednesday to allow for parents to organise cover for their child going forward. The school will be closed for all students from Thursday 26 March. For obvious reasons, I ask that each family adhere to the guidelines the Prime Minister and her team have outlined.

School Holidays have been moved forward to fall within the 4 week period. These will begin this coming Monday 30 March.

This afternoon I met with our Leadership Team to discuss our Learning @ Home resources and how this will look for you across the upcoming period. Two of these 4 weeks will be holidays. All communication from classroom teachers will now be via the Seesaw platform. This will include links and logins to learning tasks. Our teaching team will be putting the finishing touches on this across the next 48 hours. If you have not got your login for Seesaw please make contact with your classroom teacher.

We are currently looking at our ability to lend devices to those families who may require one. Please send either the office or myself a message if this is you.

Most importantly please ensure that your child is feeling safe and secure. Your child may be worried or anxious about what is going on, and the most important thing they need is for the adults around them to be calm, positive and supportive. If your child wants to continue with their learning, please use the ideas we will share with you. If you and your child are happy doing the things you want to, then please do not feel any pressure from us to change that.

The school pool is closed effectively immediately.
